"Our mission, in partnership with parents, professionals and the community, is to help children with special needs grow and learn on a path to a more independent life."
The goal for all of our students is to gain greater functional independence skills. Heartspring teaches the life skills that children need to succeed at the activities of daily life, thereby increasing individual independence, quality of life, and reducing the burden of care.
Heartspring Pediatric Services positively impacts the lives of children with special needs by providing outpatient therapies which include occupational, physical and speech therapies and psychology services.
Together with the child, parents and therapists, school districts, and all others involved in the student's education, we design and implement outcomes-based programs which allow our students to succeed in environments they have been unable to manage before. Eventually, our students transition to a "less restrictive" setting - whether that be home, a group setting or the public school setting.
Since its founding in 1910, Camp Fire has had one of the nation's leading not-for-profit youth development organizations. Their mission is “Camp Fire builds caring, confident youth and future leaders.” Last year, Camp Fire logged an amazing 22 million program hours in pursuit of that mission.
Camp Fire programs include small group experiences, after-school programs, camping and environmental education, childcare and service learning. These opportunities are designed to build confidence in younger children and provide hands-on, youth-driven leadership experiences for older youth.
Gamma Phi Beta chapters support Camp Fire Councils in their local communities through volunteer work, by providing financial support, and by sponsoring young girls in Camp Fire programs.
At Convention 2012, Gamma Phi Beta announced its newest philanthropic partner Girls on the Run. A volunteer-led program, Girls on the Run weaves training for a 5K run with fun, experience-based lessons that improve self-awareness, build a collection of positive experiences and inspire life-changing confidence through accomplishment. The organization’s programming inspires self-respect and healthy lifestyles in girls, and their core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development.
Gamma Phi Beta is proud to partner with Girls on the Run International a a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
